With the creation of new inhouse data management systems for processing samples through the labs, to improving traceability and visibility of information – there are a whole host of aspects to get stuck into.
Required skills include some knowledge and or experience in programming – and a willingness to learn new languages and techniques. With both in-house and external customers, the possibilities for development are endless and we need someone with an innovative, creative mind to help us on our journey.

We are looking for someone to join our Chemistry department!
Our Chemistry department and scope are expanding, so this is an exciting time to join the team and have a real impact on the future of the department.
You will be involved with entering results which will be reported directly to the customers so a high degree of responsibility, thoughtfulness and attention to detail is essential.
This position includes prioritising and planning of workload fluctuations around routine tasks, all of which must be completed on the day. You will be working in an environment associated with the exacting high standards required of UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025. This implementation is at bench level where practices are expected to be at the highest standard.
Required skills include:
- Diploma level experience minimum or relevant industry experience.
- Understanding of analytical processes and experience in GC or HPLC desirable.
- Be familiar with and proven proficient in Chemical Testing and interpretation of results.
- Be familiar with the wider aspects of food chemistry. Have a working knowledge of UKAS principles for Laboratory Accreditation to ISO17025.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team. Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate, ability to use Word and Excel to Intermediate Level.
